The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) is seeking an experienced mental health professional for a part time counseling position in its outpatient mental health and counseling services.

Position:
Counselor for Staff and Employees
HR Management Section

Working Location:
Onna-son, Okinawa, Japan

Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will provide assessment and evidence based therapy/counseling in English for OIST graduate students, staff and their families presenting with a wide range of clinical issues; and contribute to the development of student and staff support networks and mental health workshops.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a minimum of a Masters degree in clinical or counseling psychology, psychiatric social work, or a closely related field and be members in good standing with their professional bodies. It is expected that applicants will have at least 5 years’ experience working as counselors within the field of mental health.

Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience working with multicultural populations and/or university populations.

Term:
Part‐time employment, 2 days per week, 8hrs on average per week

Compensation:
In accordance with the OIST Employee Compensation Regulation
